探花合集 is seeking an Automation Support Engineer to join a dynamic team in the US. This role focuses on maintaining and troubleshooting automated systems to ensure seamless operational performance. This is an on-site position supporting operations during weekday afternoon and evening hours.

Primary Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will play a critical part in ensuring smooth operations by addressing technical issues, coordinating with research teams, and documenting activities for seamless handoffs.

Skills & Requirements:

  • Degree in Engineering, Biology, Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Experience with lab automation, lab instrumentation, or production operations in life sciences or physical sciences.
  • Ability to independently troubleshoot electro-mechanical equipment and software systems.
  • Strong written communication skills for effective shift handoff documentation.
  • Flexibility to work a designated weekday shift on-site.

Bonus Skills:

  • Familiarity with liquid handlers, plate-based workflows, or high-throughput screening instrumentation.
  • Experience with lab scheduling or workflow orchestration software (e.g., Cellario).
  • Basic scripting or programming skills (e.g., Python, C) for log analysis or diagnostics.
  • Exposure to robotic integration platforms or multi-instrument workcell environments.
  • Background in multi-shift operations with structured handoffs.

The Automation Support Engineer's responsibilities will be:

  • Monitor and maintain automated workcells, addressing instrument faults, software errors, and run failures as they arise.
  • Collaborate with on-shift research scientists to prioritize recovery efforts and ensure active experiments proceed without delays.
  • Troubleshoot electro-mechanical and software systems, determining when to resolve issues immediately or escalate to day-shift engineers for extended fixes.
  • Identify recurring failure patterns and communicate them to the engineering team for root cause analysis.
  • Perform routine maintenance, setup, and teardown to ensure reliability across shifts.
  • Document shift events, decisions, and unresolved issues to provide clear updates for the day team.
