Staff Scientist, Sample Management (SM) - Contract - Wilmington, DE
探花合集 is seeking a Staff Scientist, Sample Management (SM) for a contract role in the US. This position requires strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
Primary Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will focus on managing and reformatting archived sample libraries using liquid handling automation. You will have the opportunity to work closely with the Compound Management Leadership team to ensure accurate execution of workflows, maintain timelines, and support streamlined processes.
Skills & Requirements:
- Background in Biology, Chemistry, Life Sciences, or related field, with laboratory experience.
- Familiarity with compound management or sample logistics is desirable.
- Experience with liquid handling automation is a plus.
- Proficiency in computer skills and database management.
- Ability to work safely with personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, gloves, and lab coats.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in teams and independently.
The Staff Scientist's responsibilities will be:
- Reformat archived sample libraries by transferring samples from plates to tubes using liquid handling automation.
- Update and maintain the database with newly created tube information and store tubes in an automated storage system.
- Decompress samples from deep well 384-well library plates to standardized 500uL FluidX tubes and load them into the database and storage system.
- Transfer wetstore vials into standardized 500uL FluidX tubes, update the database, and physically store the tubes.
- Identify unique samples in recovery plates, cherry-pick and transfer them into standardized tubes, and discard remaining plates.
- Standardize older library samples into 500uL FluidX tubes under the guidance of leadership.
- Create 1536-well LDV copies of the screening library from existing 384 poly pro plates.
- Maintain communication with Library Management lead to ensure project timelines are met.
