Are you motivated by work that directly impacts patients living with rare conditions? We are supporting a leading biopharmaceutical company in their search for a Key Account Manager (KAM) to strengthen regional engagement and improve the care pathway for individuals affected by rare liver diseases across Germany.
About the Role
As a Key Account Manager for Rare Liver Diseases, you will play a central role in identifying patients, expanding disease awareness, and building strong professional networks between community gastroenterologists, regional hospitals, and national expert centers. Your work will help remove barriers to diagnosis, ensure appropriate referrals, and support therapy evaluation and initiation.
You'll act as a trusted partner for healthcare professionals, facilitating collaboration across the care ecosystem while providing relevant scientific and educational resources. Working closely with commercial and medical teams, you'll contribute to strategies that accelerate access to treatment for patients with conditions such as PFIC and PBC.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage with regional gastroenterologists and smaller hospitals to improve early recognition and diagnosis of rare liver diseases.
- Establish referral pathways that connect community physicians with expert centers, ensuring smooth and timely transfer of complex cases.
- Build strong partnerships with centers of excellence and multidisciplinary teams involved in therapy decision-making.
- Increase awareness and urgency around the management of PBC, encouraging faster escalation to second-line options when appropriate.
- Develop and maintain regional networks dedicated to rare liver conditions, encouraging collaboration between specialists and peripheral clinicians.
- Organize scientific events and networking initiatives featuring KOLs and specialist stakeholders.
- Share field insights and customer feedback with internal teams to support continual strategy refinement.
- Partner with cross-functional teams (Commercial, Medical, Brand) to deliver coordinated, compliant activities.
- Ensure all actions follow relevant ethical, legal, and company guidelines.
Key Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in the pharmaceutical or healthcare sector, ideally within rare diseases, specialty care, or roles focused on network-building.
- Familiarity working with gastroenterologists or hepatologists is highly advantageous.
- Strong background in key account management and customer-facing engagement.
- Demonstrated ability to plan and deliver educational or scientific meetings.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and influencing capabilities.
- Proactive attitude, strong prioritization skills, and the ability to navigate complex environments.
- Certified Pharmaceutical Representative qualification.
- Proficiency in MS Office tools.
- Strong English skills; German fluency required.
- Willingness to travel for regional visits, events, and conferences.
